Information Technology
The CIRG Information Technology (IT) department currently maintains a world class wide-area virtual private network it designed and built for integrating its global locations and mobile clients into a seamless state-of-the-art network. The department has implemented and integrated the Paris and LA office networks into the existing CIRG network, has launched the CIRG website, the intranet, and has validated all current GCP platforms.

IT Team Goals are:

To provide network and computer support for all CIRG employees, including all CIRG and non-CIRG Clinical Research Associates.

To maintain a state-of-the-art, secure Virtual Private Network connecting the 3 CIRG central offices and all home-based CRAs together.

To research IT capabilities for the streamlining and enhancement of business practices.

To ensure the current and proposed networks and technical infrastructure conform to established validation standards.
IT Team Activities are:

To support the clinical trial database platforms and develop internal applications required for ongoing management of clinical trial data and operations.
The database programmer and general programmers provide services for the Oracle and MS-SQL databases running in CIRG. They also provide programming support to all departments. IT is responsible for the internal development of validated GCP and non-GCP program applications, including the maintenance and support for the CIRG electronic data management system.

To apply technical services for all network-related issues.
IT oversees all server platforms, Local Area Network (LAN) hardware, as well as all connections (and all equipment used to connect) to the World Wide Web. IT is responsible for front-line defense and security. An aggressive antivirus program and a state-of-the-art firewall provide CIRG with a safe, reliable, and secure environment to work in. All CIRG hardware pieces can be controlled remotely which in turn allows for resolution of issues anywhere in the world.
